Voodoo Religion That May Change Your Perspective

Voodoo Religion

If there is one religion in this world that is often misunderstood, it is probably the voodoo religion. This is the reason why I always have to find myself having to explain to people why they need to give themselves time to learn about this religion. Doing so would allow all of us a chance to come to an understanding of how we can benefit from its teaching and rituals as those who know it well will tell you unequivocally that this is one of the most powerful religions around.

The voodoo religion is one of the most misunderstood religions in the world. Discover how racism has led to African voodoo and the voodoo rituals connected to it being perceived as superstition and their Gods as evil. Find out how this religion can help you solve some of your most difficult challenges.

What Is Voodoo?

I have already indicated that Voodoo is a religion. By defining Voodoo as a religion, we simply mean that it is founded on a set of beliefs, practices, and feelings. Just like all other religions, it is characterized by particular features involving believers, moral laws, holy books, and worship among other such elements.

As a religion Voodoo has its roots in the continent of Africa. It was spread across the world particularly during the days of the slave trade. Since then, it has been adopted in different parts of the world, especially in the Caribbean and America’s where it amalgamated the Catholic religions, African voodoo, and American cultures to create new voodoo rituals. However, unlike the other religions, it is neither based on world authority or scripture; possibly the reason why many people do not look at it as a religion.

Even though there are no specific figures relating to the number of people who follow the Voodoo religion, casual figures indicate that there are around five million followers across the world today. This is an indication that the religion is quite a serious one.

Beliefs Of The Voodoo Religion

Also, unlike the other religions like Christianity and Islam, the Voodoo religion is practiced differently across the world. This is the reason why what you will find in New Orleans voodoo shops may not necessarily be what you find in Voodoo shops in other parts of the world.

The Voodoo beliefs are centered around a belief that there are two different worlds; with one being physical and another being spiritual or invisible. However, these two worlds are believed to exist in tandem with one affecting the other. In the Voodoo religion, those who die are not dead in an actual sense, they have just transitioned from one world which is visible to one that is invisible. Hence, those who have died stay with us and guide us in the lives we live.

Why Are People Scared Of The Voodoo Religion?

Now, you may be asking yourself, if Voodoo is a religion just like all other religions, why are people scared of it. The first reason is that people tend to be scared of things they do not understand. This is why I often say the Voodoo religion is one of the most misunderstood religions ever.

Secondly, the views held in much of the Western world about this religion are based on racism. As a religion that was introduced to the world by people of African descent, it was also reduced and feared just like the people that introduced it was treated. The Western religions dismissed the Voodoo religion and called it nothing but superstition. The learned scholars of the West called the beliefs of people who followed the Voodoo faith as superstition while they also said that these people worshipped evil gods.

Voodoo Vs Hoodoo

Another question relates to whether Voodoo and Hoodoo are the same. Well, even though these two words may sound the same, they actually mean two different things. The difference between the two is that voodoo is a religion which is currently practiced by people while hoodoo is mainly folk magic. This is the reason why hoodoo, unlike voodoo revenge spells does not have teachings, leaders, and religious rituals.

The Voodoo Doll

Many people are looking for information regarding the voodoo religion often ask, what is a voodoo doll? It is a doll used to represent certain things. For instance, someone using voodoo revenge spells or voodoo spells for money uses the doll when they cast their spells. The spell caster has a way of connecting, at a spiritual level, the doll to the individual that the spell is being cast for.

People who use voodoo spells to hurt someone actually do not hurt the person physically but make use of the doll. If someone is attempting to hurt you, they start by making a spiritual connection between yourself and the doll and whatever they do to the doll, manifests in you.
